Gifted Services Available in Virginia Beach
Dance, Art, gifted testing, Old Donation School, and Brickell Academy applications are only available online: giftedapplication.vbcps.net. You will need your child’s lunch number and their school device password as well as a valid email address.

DANCE Grades 2 - 7
  • Dance applications must be submitted online by February 1st. No late forms will be accepted.
  • Students will be contacted about completing a full day dance assessment at Old Donation School.  You will receive notification about the date your child will attend (Tryouts are in April - May)

ART Grades 2 - 7
  • Students must also complete a three page drawing portfolio to be returned to school by Feb. 1, 2017.  Please contact Ms. Whitney or Mrs. Proffitt for the portfolio pages.
  • Parents  must submit the parent application by February 1st, 2017. Late forms are not accepted.
  • Students who have scored well on the portfolio will be invited to a full day art assessment at Old Donation School in the spring.  You will receive notification about the date your child will attend the full day art assessment.
 
INTELLECTUAL IDENTIFICATION grades 2 – 4 only
  • This date is ONLY for students in grades 2 – 4 who do not wish to be considered for ODS, the elementary gifted magnet school.  All 1st gr forms are due March 1.
  • Once you submit the parent form, your child’s homeroom teacher will be notified.  The homeroom, team teacher (if applicable), and GRT will collaborate to complete the teacher information form 
  • The parent form is due November 18th.  Late forms are not accepted.
 
5th Grade Gifted Testing, OLD DONATION SCHOOL & BRICKELL ACADEMY FOR INTELLECTUALLY GIFTED (Current grades 2-7)
  • The parent form is due February 1.  Late forms are not accepted. 
  • All 1st Grade applications are due on March 1st.
  • Once you submit the parent form, your child’s homeroom teacher will be notified.  The homeroom, team teacher (if applicable), and GRT will collaborate to complete the teacher information form
